Smart Encoding + 19th Anniversary

Patents: In January, patents were granted for a cube ball core and charger, and for a cube ball core and four-axis smart-encoding cube, along with a design patent for a training device. In July, an invention patent was granted for a cube-solving robot and its control method (CN116277049B). Products: In July, the Super AoLong 19th Anniversary Edition launched, with a standard speedcubing version and an AI gyroscope magnetic-core smart version offering 30 hours of battery life.

2025

The 100-Magnet Era + Super Series

Products: In March, the Super WeiLong V2 launched with 100 magnets and an AI gyroscope magnetic-core version. In June, the WeiLong V11 launched with 100 magnets, a 20-magnet ball-core MagLev system and a numerical adjustment system, alongside the V11AI. In September, the Smart Mirror Cube launched with 76 magnets and global online battles. In October, the Super WeiLong returned with a 20-magnet ball-core MagLev system and an AI version, alongside the AoShi V4 6×6 with triple-track technology. In November, the AoFu V5 7×7 launched with 232 magnets and patented triple-track technology. Patents: A cube patent application covering the core base, contact brush and antenna was filed in January. Applications for magnetic building block components and patents for ball cores and cubes followed in July. A patent for a magnetic building block component was granted in August (CN223208979U).

2024

AI Upgrades + High-Tech Enterprise Recognition

Products: In June, the WeiLong V10 AI Smart Cube launched with real-time gyroscope magnetic-core synchronisation. In October, the Huameng TG launched with a dual magnetic adjustment system and six settings for corner and edge magnets. Patents: Applications for the Maple Leaf Cube and Mirror Cube were filed in January; a Maple Leaf Cube patent was granted in March. Applications for corner pieces and cubes were filed in September, followed by the grant of a patent titled “A Corner Piece and Cube” in October (CN221846022U). Qualifications: Recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a provincial specialised, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative SME, and a provincial innovative SME.

2023

The Ball-Core Era + A Surge in Patents

Products: In April, the WeiLong WRM V9 launched in 48-, 60- and 88-magnet versions with a ball-core MagLev system. The RS3M V5 followed in October. At year-end, the V9 20-magnet ball-core full-positioning Magic-Coat edition launched. Patents: An invention patent application for a cube-solving robot and its control method was filed in January. Corner-piece patents followed in August, a cube watch component patent in October, and another corner-piece patent in November.

2022

Flagship Skewb

The MoYu flagship Skewb launched in August with anti-sticking lubricant grooves on its contact surfaces and a dual adjustment system for centre travel and spring tension, upgrading the shape-mod range.

2021

The Dawn of MagLev and Smart Cubes

The WeiLong WRM 2021 launched with five magnetic strength settings, followed by the WRM 2021 MagLev version. The first-generation WeiLong AI Smart Cube then entered the market, marking MoYu’s entry into smart cubes.

2020

A Lighter WRM 2020

The WeiLong WRM 2020 launched with new colour schemes, matte plastic, a natural-colour internal core and thinner walls for lower weight. It retained the dual adjustment system while reducing its size by approximately 0.5 mm.

2019

Dual Adjustment + Independent Operations

The WeiLong WRM 2019 launched with a Dual-Adjustment system for independent centre travel and spring tension settings. MoYu formally separated from YongJun and began operating independently.

2018

Breakthroughs in Ultra-High-Order Cubes

The WeiLong GTS3M entered the market. MoYu expanded its ultra-high-order range with the world’s first 15×15 and 21×21 cubes, establishing development capabilities across the full range of cube sizes.

2017

The Magnetic Era Begins

The WeiLong GTS2M launched with a magnetic positioning system, becoming the main cube of many competitors and achieving a 3.47-second solve record.

2016

Company Founded + WeiLong GTS

Shantou Chenghai MoYu Culture Co., Ltd. was officially registered on 25 August, with Yonghuang Chen as its legal representative. The WeiLong GTS 3×3 launched, helping competitors break multiple records.

2014

The AoLong Series Is Born

The AoLong V1 launched, followed later that year by an enhanced AoLong with larger corner-piece grooves and improved resistance to corner twists. Jiayu Wang set an Asian record of 5.81 seconds using the AoLong V2.

2013

The Original WeiLong Breaks a Record

Australian competitor Feliks Zemdegs used the MoYu WeiLong to break the 3×3 world record with a time of 6.54 seconds, doubling overseas sales.

2012

Brand Founded

The MoYu (Moyuculture) brand was established, entering the speedcubing market.
